Workshops, Retreats & Embodiment Circles

Workshops, retreats, and embodiment circles are invitations to pause, reconnect, and gather in meaningful ways—through movement, ritual, creativity, and community.

At The Ruth Smith Place, I offer in-person and online spaces that hold a deep respect for the body, the seasons, and the wisdom that comes when we slow down together. Whether it’s a seasonal women’s circle, a weekend creative retreat, or a day-long embodiment workshop, each space is crafted to nourish, inspire, and support your unfolding.

No experience is required—just willingness to listen inward, move at your own pace, and share space with others in a supportive and inclusive way.

Some gatherings are intimate and personal. Others are playful, powerful, or quietly transformative. All are held with care, curiosity, and clear intention.

With The Ruth Smith Place, workshops and retreats become a practice in presence—a place where body, voice, spirit, and community are gently invited to meet.

Things to Know About For with Workshops, Retreats & Embodiment Circles

  • You don’t need prior experience—just curiosity
These gatherings are for everyone. Whether you're new to embodiment or creativity, or returning to it, you're welcome just as you are.

  • Each event is different and seasonal
From full-day retreats to evening circles or weekend workshops, offerings shift with the seasons and themes—always rooted in presence, relevance, and care.

  • You’re invited to go at your own pace
Everything is optional. There’s no pressure to share, move, or speak unless it feels right for you. The space is designed to honour choice and autonomy.

  • Practices may include movement, stillness, writing, ritual, and group connection
I use a mix of tools—including yoga, creative expression, body-based inquiry, and shared reflection—tailored to the group and theme.

  • Safe, inclusive and trauma-informed spaces
All workshops are grounded in consent, respect, and gentle facilitation. Diversity, lived experience, and full-spectrum humanity are all welcomed and honoured.

  • It’s okay to feel emotional, joyful, vulnerable, or unsure
These spaces make room for the full range of experience. You’ll be supported in whatever arises, in a container held with presence and non-judgment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. These spaces are open to everyone. You don’t need prior experience—just a willingness to explore and listen inward. Everything is offered with gentle guidance and full permission to participate in your own way.

Each event is different, but you can expect a blend of movement (like yoga or dance), reflection (journaling, ritual, sharing), rest, and connection. All activities are optional, and you're always invited to honour your pace and needs.

Some are designed specifically for women or people who menstruate, especially those exploring cyclical living. Others are open to all genders. Each event will clearly state who it’s for so you know what to expect.

You’ll never be pressured to speak, move, or share anything you’re not comfortable with. The space is held gently, with an emphasis on consent and choice. Just showing up is enough.

Workshops can be a few hours or a full day. Retreats may last a weekend or more. They’re held in calm, welcoming spaces across Galway and beyond—or sometimes online. Full details are shared with each event listing.

I weave together years of experience in embodiment, creative facilitation, and trauma-informed care to create gatherings that are soulful, real, and deeply human. People often leave feeling more grounded, open, and reconnected to themselves.
